The Thaw-out Report

02-02-2010. After the 2nd Coming of The Dreaded Oklahoma Snow Catastrophe. Although I still think it was over hyped, I think it helped the State to be better prepared. I used the snowed-in time to get caught up on a lot of things.

MobileTrainer
The storm changed many business plans for the week and weekend. We were supposed to be interviewed Friday by Angi Bruss from NewsOk / OPUBCO, but that was put off of course. I spent my time studying up on ASP.NET. I got through a little over two chapters! Some ask "What is a Personal Trainer doing studying web development"? Well, the reason is because I have my Patented Web Application MobileTrainer. I have been working on it for over four years now. You can check it out on the web at http://www.FitnessFulfillment.com. I'm studying so that I can do some of the development instead of relying upon others to do it for me.

Recently we have had some developments in the race to get this application out. I found a competitor out there that has an eerily similar product out - not going to mention their name because don't want to help them out. Funny that I found them from an ad on Facebook advertising about an app for a college that we had a verbal agreement to have them use our app – well that was a slap to the face! I have a strange feeling that they may have copied my invention! Usually when I have these feelings they are correct or close. They have a Copyright application and I have a Patent Application. Mine was filed on February 14, 2007 and theirs was in late 2007. Hummm... something is fishy about that alone, but the other thing is that he was involved in a business plan competition just like I was. Now from experience I know that you research other competitions and business plans to get ideas on how to put your actual plan together. Also, one of the first things anyone that advises you will tell you to do a lot of searching on search engines to see if there is a product out there with the same idea. Well, guess what? I have been in the news a lot due to the competition I was involved in and I can guaranty to almost certainty that he had to come across something. Now, your advisors will also tell you to go ahead you’re your idea if you believe in the idea because you never know. The point I'm trying to make is, having your own idea and taking someone else's is totally different. Ok, I’m done! Just wanted to vent and put it out there for the record.
